Getting Up…..its a wrap!

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

Well, its been a while since I have wrote anything down. Im all moved in here at my new apartment in Midvale Utah. Its kinda cozy, and the best part is that my bed isnt folding out from the wall. Im had a long and intersting week last week. I worked all week, then on friday I flew back to Newport Beach, and attended the Getting-Up wrap party. It was nice seeing the guys from The Collective one last time.

I got dropped off at the apartment in Newport for one last night. As I pulled my bed out from the wall one last time, I realised that this was my last night in California, and it was going to be an extremely uncomfortable one.Which really didnt bother me too much, but I had a hard time sleeping and I knew I had a really long drive ahead of me the next day.

I walked the 4 miles to the Airport the next morning, and I picked up the rental van. After I got the van I stopped at the ex’s place and said goodbye, then I drove back to the apartment and packed what little belongings I had left. Needless to say that I was quite tired after that. From there I went back to The Collective to see some of my friends for the last time. I had lunch with Rudy and Ian. Then I made my way to my brothers house to see my mom and my brother before leaving California for good. By the time I left it was almost 10pm. I was very worried that I wouldnt be able to make it to the airport in Salt Lake City in time to bring back the Rental van. But, needless to say that I arrived in Salt Lake at 5:30am and did kill myself unpacking. I also got the moving van back in time.

What a trip. Did I mention how much I hate moving?

Im back in Utah

Sunday, November 6th, 2005

Well, its official…Im back in Utah for good. I spent my final day at the collective cleaning up some last minute things that I said I would do for Rudy and Marwan. Then after that I had my exit interview with HR and then I was on my way out of the state. It was wierd to drive out for good. I have to admit though, the Friday night traffic getting out of LA was murder. It’s a good thing, It will remind me never to move back there and have to deal with all that craziness.

I also spent the final days there packing all my stuff and cleaning out my apartment. I still have most of my stuff there that I have to go back and get when I fly back into town in the 18th. I’m still not sure exactly what I am going to do about getting all my stuff back out here. I just refuse to pay the $1,700.00 they wanted for the rental truck. I am thinking of renting a van or maybe an SUV to get the remainder of my stuff back out here. Thats going to be another interesting drive, thats for sure.

Noah and Colin met me in Vegas on Friday night and we spent some time hitting the tables at the Mirage. We were doing really good and we were pretty far ahead of the game until the table petered out and then we started losing some money. I got up Saturday morning and had breakfast with the guys before I went on with the other half of my journey. It was a lot better trip then I thought it was going to be. I went nonstop the whole way and made it in about 5 hours.

Im kinda looking forward to work tomarrow, even though I have to admit that Im so not prepared for it. I have yet to use Maya as my primary tool. I think that its going to be a little interesting how I am going to manage that. I have the loan paperwork all setup and my approval letter faxed to my realestate agent here in Salt Lake. I got pre-approved for 140k. Im not sure that is going to be enough however to buy the kind of place that want to get. I want to get something that is a little more modern and not something that is really old. Its hard to find exactly what you want out here because there is a serious shortage of housing. They just cant seem to build them fast enough. So in the meantime I am looking for an affordable apartment that I can save some money in the meantime.
